The IAFF’s 56th Convention wrapped up on day four after delegates debated dozens of resolutions, listened to roundtable discussions on critical topics impacting the membership, and honored local leaders from each of the 16 districts.

“On behalf of the 330,000 members, I want to thank Ottawa Local 162 President Doug McLennan and his team for all they did to make this convention a success,” said General President Edward Kelly. “Even when it looked like we might have to change locations, Local 162 rolled with the punches and got the job done. I look forward to seeing all of you in Boston in 2024.”

“It was our pleasure to host the more than 1,800 delegates here in Ottawa and show off our great city and culture,” said Local 162 President McLennan. “We were honored to not only debate these important resolutions, but to break bread and have a drink with all of you after the business was done each day.”

As a special thanks, General President Kelly presented McLennan and his members with a commemorative bell.
